Support

Something broken, something confusing, or an idea for what Linesider should do next? All of it is welcome, and it all goes to the same place.

Get in touch

Email tony@d9cd.net. Linesider is made by one person, so replies aren’t instant, but every message is read, and most get an answer within a few days.

Reporting a problem

Four things turn “it didn’t work” into something fixable. If you can include them, the answer usually comes back much faster:

A screenshot helps for anything visual. Please don’t send passwords. There is never a reason for us to need one.

Common questions

Around Me is empty

Two usual causes. Live vehicle positions come from regional feeds, and coverage today is the UK, the Netherlands, Germany and the San Francisco Bay Area. Outside those, the screen has nothing to show yet. Otherwise, check Linesider has location permission, since without it there’s no “around” to work from.

The identification was wrong

Every field it fills in is editable before you save. Correct anything that’s off and save as normal; your record is what counts, not the guess. If it’s consistently wrong for a particular class or operator, that’s worth an email: it usually means the catalogue is missing something rather than the model misreading the photo.

The first launch is slow

The app downloads the vehicle catalogue once, and it’s tens of thousands of records. That first sync takes a while; afterwards it updates in the background and only fetches what changed.

Deleting your account

Profile → Delete account on iOS and Android, or Settings → Delete accounton the web. It removes your account and your data (spots, lists, journeys and your draft catalogue entries), and it can’t be undone. You don’t need to email us to do it.

Reporting someone’s content

Shared catalogue entries carry a Report action, with the option to block the person who shared it so their shared records stop appearing for you. Reports reach a review queue. You can undo a block from Profile → Blocked users.
